AFS Orientation Webinar November 27Pathways World School, Gurgaon
On 24th of November, students from MYP3, MYP4 and DP1, parents and teachers attended an orientation webinar led by the AFS representatives of India.
AFS is an international non-governmental non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.
The AFS representatives showcased the range of programs that they offer on intercultural learning and global competencies.
The orientation started with the representatives and the students discussing intercultural learning and development as active global citizens. The students learnt how AFS can provide them with an exposure and insight into living among different cultures. Even though the pandemic has put a halt on programs offered by AFS, the organization still managed to keep these educational platforms going by making them entirely virtual.
Moreover, this organization also helps students develop skills such as language, communication, exploration, flexibility, time-management, decision making, conflict management etc.
In the orientation, the students were enlightened about two upcoming programs led by AFS, AFS ‘Global You Adventurer which includes twenty different modules, four especially facilitated live online sessions with 25 peers plus a global coach to interact with.
The other program, Global Competency Certificates for Teens is for those who want to acquire global competencies and soft skills to better navigate their intercultural experiences.
The session was very rewarding in terms of gaining knowledge about the wonderful opportunities facilitated by AFS.
