In today's time where academic competition is always on the rise, it is becoming increasingly important that students continue to understand and develop their areas of enhancement.
A myriad of middle school students from Pathways World School and a select few from HDFC School, Gurgaon, undertook a learning pursuit in the World Scholar's Cup held in the School on the 3rd and 4th February.
The World Scholar's Cup is an international team academic program, which comprises of students' participation from over fifty-two countries. The World Scholar's Cup team chooses an interdisciplinary theme as its syllabus point yearly and the students must study six different subject areas (Science, History, Social Studies, Art and Music, Special Area, and Literature).
The event commenced with an Opening Ceremony and a briefing session on the World Scholar's Cup and the participants were segregated into Junior and Senior Teams who were engaged in the Collaborative Writing and Scholar's Challenge events, and Team Debates.
Another interesting event was the Scholar's Bowl in which teams worked together to solve analytical questions and multimedia challenges, entering their answers into a programmed clicker for final polling.
The event ended with the Awards Ceremony in which many students were awarded with rhapsodies of laurels and acclaim. More than thirty teams across the senior and junior divisions qualified for the global rounds taking place later this year. The regional round of the WSC was a true celebration of learning!
