“Constitution is not a mere lawyer's document, it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of age.” said BR Ambedkar, father of the Indian constitution. Republic Day has been celebrated every year in India on January 26^th, since 1950 to honour the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect.

The virtual Republic Day celebrations in Pathways World School, Gurgaon took place on the 25^th of January for MYP students, during the Form Tutor lessons.

The teachers and students exchanged best wishes for Republic Day. Students were shown a music video wherein students from MYP and DP 1 were singing a patriotic song while playing the piano. It was a beautiful song symbolizing the love for the nation. The performance was mesmerizing, captivating, and appreciated by the students and teachers. The video was followed up by a quick discussion on what Republic Day means to the children.

Afterwards, students participated in Republic Day celebration online quiz competition on the theme of “Indian Constitution, struggle for freedom, warriors of Indian independence” organized by the Ministry of Education in association with Ministry of Defense. The students also watched launch video of Hindi Magazine- Drishti. The magazine has been put together by the Students of Hindi.

Even though Republic Day could not be celebrated physically in school, the virtual Republic Day celebrations were highly successful, and the music performance video was enjoyed by all the viewers. The pathways community wishes everyone a very Happy Republic Day.
